These events provide an opportunity for our athletes to demonstrate the sport of wheelchair basketball, share their experiences, and educate students and community members about adaptive athletics. Participants are often invited to try wheelchair basketball themselves, including friendly games where able-bodied players can experience the sport from a new perspective.
Demonstration Days serve as an important way to raise awareness about adaptive sports, recruit new athletes, and connect with communities across the state.
In addition, these events often include a silent auction and basket raffle, helping raise funds to support team equipment, tournament participation, and program expenses.
These events play a vital role in both fundraising for the program and introducing new athletes to the sport of wheelchair basketball.
